Federalism, RIP (again)

AS a city land-use problem, bulldozing Mad-Max style collapse makes sense.

When the Fedgov pops up with a list of 50 cities to do it in as a policy proposal, I mysteriously start itching.

Yeah, I get the same itch. If its a local initiative I don’t see the issue. But trust the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT with this? Oh hell no.

How exactly is all this bad? The fed. govt. is asking the person who got a town to agree to his plan to study the plan further. It’s not like they’re actually doing it now and they’re not going to do it without permission of the locals. Maybe I’m missing something but I think all of you are being way paranoid over an article published in the UK about a story in Flint, MI. I’ve visited Flint before, and I can say first hand that this is a VERY good thing for some decaying cities to smartly contract like this. If it’s a best practice, why not use it elsewhere? The article never insinuates that the federal govt. is going to force this on anyone.
Now if you don’t trust your elected officials and fellow neighbors who are government employees, fine, but not every plan the government asks someone to study more will be turned to shit they minute they get a hold on it.
