Nationwide adult Herpes at 19% ??

Drudge had a post on how New Yorkers are sitting ugly at 26%… but that’s up from only 19% across the nation?

Hrm… yeah, I think some sexual conservatism just might kindasorta be in order…. I mean, dayum…..

Herpes is incurable, and relatively easily transmissible. STD is a bad acronym because it puts sex in the category of how a disease in transmitted. I would prefer “blood borne pathogen” myself. But it also can be largely asymptomatic. Not to weird anybody out, but if twenty percent is one in five, and there are more than five on this site, then, erm…
    Testing is a good idea.

Fair enough, but if the nationwide average is 19%, not accounting for clustering, then we have been exposed every day to folks with a communicable, incurable virus that probably doesn’t register in most folks. And unless there is a whole lot more random sex going on than I know about, I would probably guess that some of that transmission is not sexual. Wouldn’t hurt for a check is all I’m saying.

Jim is a math major, so what did I miss?
