Question for the savvy blogger types…

I was looking at the terms for WordPress, and they talked about a 35 user limit. What is a “user” in this context? Is it a list of people who can add to the blog, or is it a viewer? If I invite 36 people to view Happycrow, does that hit Happycrow in the wallet? Is Happycrow only 35 users from getting slashdotted?

Happycrow is completely ignorant on this subject, as the idea that 35 people would want to be users on this blog seems extraordinarily unlikely.

  1. I’m pretty sure it is just the number of people that can add to the blog.

If a user is a person who posts then that is a useful thing to know. Russ, I was thinking about starting up a blog for the foreign students here at GSNU. Do you have any shots and groups on the topic?

I am starting to suspect that I’m still supposed to be providing you with a picture of Evil Happycrow?

Groups on the topic… what do you mean? You’ve being a touch vague.

Shots and groups refers to the study of how you did at target shooting. Where are your shots, and how are they grouped.

How easy was it to work with WordPress? What was your experience running this site? What are some good concerns? That kind of thing.

Ah. Got it. Haven’t heard that used in forever. WordPress is generally very simple to use. It is not anywhere near as Blogger, but I found it to be more stable, and blogger frequently keeps firefox users from being able to comment.

    I definitely recommend this software.

I like wordpress also. I really can’t imagine how the typical user could need 35 users as posters/contributors though. It’d have to be pretty special needs, and at that point, one might as well host it themselves.
