Yet More Things My Students Taught Me

“Those who opposed the proggressive (sic) movement were those in power. These included, but not limited to (sic), the papal order who sought to control the people through social repression. Monopolist (sic) also opposed reform movements that challenged their status quo, such as safety regulations, and regulatory pay minimums. The (sic) were those who were also just afraid of change, such as the conservitives (sic).”

What makes this extra spiffy, is that it’s plagiarized.

Oh that is value-added humor. Stupidity, but not just any stupidity. This guy was dumb enough to believe this, and not smart enough to put it in his own words.

  2. For some reason I think the writer is lost in meat-packing reform.

I use very awkward grammar sometimes, but not that awkward, and not in series. I’m glad I don’t have to grade that junk.

  3. Btw, I sent you an email on your cougarmail accnt about the research paper handout I don’t have. I’m assuming you use that account as much as the students do, so you can find my email in my pearly white name. I think.

    Hell, Reyna, you actually study!

Actually, good thing you wrote: my cougarmail account is down…they changed something in the network. So I’ll send you the file tomorrow morning using your email if I can dig it out of your blog.

What time frame is he talking about? I can’t get any useful data from that. Progressive and Papal, as proper nouns for political bodies, are not in the same time frame if they are to relate to their politically accepted meanings. Unless maybe this is the Spanish Civil War..?
