Lileks is a God

Once again, Lileks punctures any sentimental but ignorant notions that the New Deal was Happiness in a Box.

Dissent?  What’s that?

I hear they’re combining Dissent and Commentary into a new literary form: Dissentary.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that we really like Lileks in our house. We have two of his books for the great laughs they bring. “Gastroanomolies” is, well, quite the gut-buster on laughter and nausea at the same time. And the comments about Piggly-Wiggly brought back some memories – since I remember reading out that patented layout in American Scientist about a year ago, and….I used to shop there from time to time when I lived in South Carolina. Ah that slogan – “I’m sticking with the Pig” was worth seeing and repeating from time to time in my house.

  3. Amen. The level of conformity in society would totally freak out the left-wing twinkies over here.

Except they’re very often just as conformist, to a different set of standards…
