“Cloud People” city worked over by archaeologists

Although the reporter writing it totally bungles the intro describing the mummy’s posture:  corpses change posture due to rigor mortis, and can look as if they’re recoiled in horror or agony simply due to muscle movement.  Therefore, there’s no way of saying that this nice old lady couldn’t have simply been lovingly interred in a “baby sleeping” position.

Really cool…of course he also bungles the location…it is the Amazon of the Andes, not the actual Amazon valley…which today is a rather bleak landscape but used to be heavily rainforested, hence the name. The Chachapoyas were a fascinating civilization indeed.

About which I know almost nothing at all…
Yes, I’m online, we have wifi here in the Adjunct office. Coolness.
But it’s not a very good space for working in, so I outlined, but didn’t reconcile lesson plans.

(I dream of a semester now when all my classes use the same book…)
