Ahmed Al-Jarallah
Editor-in-Chief, the Arab TimesHASSAN Nasrallah is in a quagmire. If, according to his own statements, Nasrallah knew Israel would attack Lebanon between September and November, if he was aware the Zionist enemy was ready for war and if he had received this information, which even the Pentagon and CIA could not receive, why did he give Israel an opportunity to launch the war before time by kidnapping two of its soldiers?
Either he’s an idiot, or else he didn’t. Another voice questions Nasrallah’s bluster.
I still think it was unauthorized, and some low-level Hezbollista is having his fingernails removed on the hour by his bosses.

/ August 6, 2006I could see it either way, but by focussing on the foreign power aspect. I think Iran is training and upgunning the Hezbies (has anyone come up with a suitable derogatory term for Hizbolah yet? Let’s get on that people.) to see how they work against the Israelis. Now that they know that their training wasn’t really changing the outcome significantly, I think they want to stop the music before their toy gets completely crushed.
The Israelis are going to inflict 80% casualties on Hezbola-de-dah (too long. hmm.) because in a good line from a bad movie, “If you kill him, he won’t learn nothin’.” They’ve always made it a point to eliminate Syrian units for the same reason.
