We can’t catch a break with both fucking hands.

Well, we left Nebraska early so that I can twiddle my thumbs at work tomorrow for no apparent reason… twelve hours straight from North Bend to Irving…

only to hear the telltale rush of “water coming from nowhere,” and find that there’s an inch of water on both bathroom floors, because we’ve had a pipe burst in the wall.  God knows how long it’s been spewing gallons of now-stagnant water in between our walls to attract termites and start rotting out the timbers.

Lovely.  Just fucking lovely.

  1. Aw crap — jeez, when I fed your cats yesterday at 6p,, everything looked normal. Granted, I didn’t check the bathrooms. but I didn’t hear anything. Not that that helps or anything, but it can pinpoint when the actual water seepage happened.

  3. ANd now the plumber who came out tells me that since this is the EXACT same place the previous leak was, that company should deal with it as it was under waratny for 365 days from them, and he’d need to charge us full price for ripping out the wall and sink etc. again….AAARGH! So I am here waiting for the home warranty company to call me back and advise when the original plumber company can come out and fix their screwup. Hopefully today. And this is before a federal holiday. We are completely without water in the house and neither the husband nor I had showers since last morning when we left Nebraska. It ain’t pretty.

Damn, that SUCKS! I am sorry you had to get home to such a downer. Glad you made it safe at least. Email with Dark Side Photo is emailed, pass it on. I am in Arkansas, its everything I expected complete with mulleted teenager throwing inch and a halfers our of a van at us while running (missed my head by a meter, damn near hit the deck) and one of our Sergeants getting the “Boy, you don’t belong here” treatment at the local dinner. To be fair this is technically Oklahoma, but still…

    Good luck on your pipes.
