Apparently a burka won't save you from getting beaten and gassed if you protest… no surprise there… but are those cattle prods, or is that just an digicam artifact?  Gateway Pundit has the post…

Huntington vs. Palmer and the SCO

First, if you don't know what the SCO is, you need some background.  Today's editorial provides a pretty good background.  Here's another quick-take for motivational background.

Huntington posits a general elbow-and-shouldering between the different civilizations based on their values (with the Islamic world tending to substitute knives and suicide belts for the otherwise mostly-peaceful jostling).  That doesn't hold here:  Palmer's thesis of dictatorial regimes banding together specifically to oppose freedom, in spite of any particular ideological difference, bears out.

I'd say this one's "score one" for Palmer.  There is no other generic reason for Russia and China to want to include the Iranians into their little club.  Not that Iran will ever be a full member — the mullahs are tools.  But they're also relatively cagey tools, and may be fine with that.
