I don’t get out too much…

Forgot to turn off the A/C this morning when I left the house, so I’ll be keeping BooBoo and the fleas cool today.

BUT, I’m turning it off when nobody else is in, and then turning it on in the evening.  Normally that’s a terrible idea: you’re building up a huge heat-load, and the AC will spend vast amounts of energy decreasing it, while everybody in the house is miserable.  AKA, normally we don’t even turn it on unless it’s 100 outside, unless it’s to suck out humidity on windless days, but Baby Has No Neck and suffers in the heat, and if she’s miserable, so is everybody else.

There’s a workaround for that.  When you come home, hit your A/C unit real good with the hose, and drop its temperature significantly.  That’ll make the AC have to work nowhere near as hard, b/c there’s a greater temperature differential (they actually sell kits for this).  Bang, best of both worlds, especially if somebody, aka me, gets home an hour or so before Baby Who Has No Neck does.
