/ January 23, 2007Damn. I was hoping it work out. You would be good at it, but you have your priorities and I don’t disagree with your decision one bit.
Too bad though, I was looking forward to calling you “Chief”.

/ January 23, 2007I was, too. But I can’t con the bro into moving that far, and then give him a load of it when he points out “I’m literally trashing my career to live on your street, and you can’t guarantee that Uncle Sugar won’t move you.”

I dunno – I’m going to have to learn more about this program. I’m intrigued as well and would love to move from permanent 4F status to something more useful every now and then. Then again, my skills may not be useful in the type of program being described, at least from the details given on NPR from one of its chief proponents.

/ January 25, 2007I always say that things happen for a reason. Case in point = your comment about your brother moving closer. It certainly would mess things up for you both if you suddenly had to up and move.

/ January 25, 2007Yep to both of you. I’m not the “contractor” type… happycrow isn’t a hyper monkey. (Though there is a sizeable contingent claiming that I am, in fact, an overgrown ferret, so maybe I protest too much.)
In my case, since I’m ramping up the languages, that’s an area in which I would hope to actually be useful…
